"The Truth of Inequality and Reconciliation Commission
of the Working People of the World"

(Time and Setting)

"Before the Great War"

(Late Spring 2007) Near Future

The date is March 18, 2007. The people (FPHR) have called a meeting of all the workers to discuss what to do about the Capitalist situation. The meeting is held in a large lecture center at SUNY Albany. Representative members from all worker rights groups at present. This act completely covers everything that is contained in the Truth Commission, as it weaves in and out of the meeting with various flashbacks and other short sidetracks.

Scene 1
"The Public Announcement"

The general public meets and discusses what needs to be done about the looming situation. Professor Diligence as representing the Commission, answers some questions from the public before the meeting begins.

Scene Notes: This is scene takes place during the official public committee meeting hosted by the commission to announce the results of The Inequality Report. Jack, on behalf of the people, asks some questions to the commission.

"Could you tell us ecaxtly what The Truth Commission is?"

Professor D (representing the commission)

"This commission of working people is going to form a Task force to determine the truth of the inequalities of the capitalist of the world."

"Look for the people that are benefiting the most, that was how it all started. We made the assumption that they're most likely responsible"

"Who is responsible for the tremendous amount of inequality we asked? For starters, the world's richest people that do not do anything to change it. They are guilty by benefiting from the injustice of inequality and they who are responsible are guilty of crimes against humanity"

"What is a Crime Against Humanity?"

Professor D

"A crime against humanity is a term originating in Western system international law that refers to acts of persecution or any large-scale atrocities against a body of people, as being the criminal offence above all others. In that case of the Capitalist, they were found guilty for embezzling more then $100 Trillion dollars from the people. Countless numbers of lives have been torn and destroyed because of their greed. "

We are reporting here today, the official report of the commission. We have done the research, we have asked the people, and we have analyzed the data. What we found has shook us to our very core.

"How did it come to this?"

This scene describes what the world looked like in early 2007. The scene starts out with ‘the opening announcement’. This statement is contents of everything that is to be covered in The Committee Meeting. Flash back to the now famous lecture given to a Globalization class at SUNY Albany in early 2006. The professor explains what the problem is and what has to be done about it.

Read the Official Statement of purpose that was sent to the Elites. This is like the Olive Branch Treaty sent to King George by the founding fathers of the US. It was a plea for fair and just treatment or else war would be waged.

"Can you paint us a picture of what the world looked like before the Great War?"

(Speaks loud and strong, and with much confidence)

"This kind of like what the world is like now. If we do not do anything, then it is not going to get any better."

(Points to the diagram and explains it in detail, reads all the cycles aload)

"Capitalism is NOT sustainable. Why are the the richest country in the world yet more americans work more now then they ever had before?

Why is it ok that a single mom, has to work two jobs just to support her children. and because she is working all of the time, she never gets to see her kids. who is this fair? why do some people slave all of their lives and never get anywhere? why is that fair?

The reason is it like that is because capitalism is always expanding to increase profit. this causes Wal-Mart to move it's sweatshop around to different Asian countries looking for the cheapest labor. Many get paid $0.30 an hour. This is because Capitalism always is looking for the cheapest labor possible. Is this fair to do to weak, poor, desporate people who just want food and shealther and to raise their children? That answer is nobecause the majority does not want it that way.

This system also increases power and wealth into a few corporations. Why is it fair, that Wal-Mart committes the most arouchas crimes AND gets paid the most? The Capitalist in turn become so large and powerful, that they created the Lobby system. Orginally it was not too bad, but the thing it has become today, is a nightmare. Can you imagine what kinds of laws would be passed is the greed of the capitalist was able to influence economic trade laws? Oh wait, they already to that. It is called the WTO, the world trade organization."

"Another world is possible. There are alternatives to a corporate controlled world. We can doing something to make a difference. We have come up with 4 principles to a successful alternative"

1) Democracy and participation

We all need to participate in our government. Now all decisions are made by corporate elites. Global corporations have grown so large that they can no longer be effectively controlled by our governments.

2) Sovereignty and social welfare

Individual countries must set high standards of living. No government or corporation can put any limits on the sovereignty of the people of their state. Everyone must be cared for society equally.

3) Reduce inequalities

The object of economic globalization must be to reduce inequality, among nations and within nations. People are the number one concern, not money or profit. Globalization must be the driving force of equality for everyone. Salary caps can be put in place if individuals or companies make more then they need if there are people living around them that are not living up to the basic standard of living.

4) Sustainability

Economies must be based on something other than free market capitalism. This system must always be expanding, and there for is not sustainable without hurt to the disadvantaged group. We need a system that is based on something that can be sustained into the future of our new globalized world.

"Given that the market offers no solution. All they promote is cost cutting. The states and government are not going to help us, because they are controlled by the corporations. That only leaves one person left. You and me."

Speaker General Justice:

(In front of the Committee of People for Worker's Rights. The General is proposing the mission objectives)

"I have been asked to show you who is responsible for the Crime of Supporting Inequality. The Top Five Individual Targets are:

"This is the amount of money these individuals claim as their own. Not only that, but they are listed as the world's top billionaires, as if they are proud to have so much money. Ninety-nine percent of this money if going to be redistributed to those who have nothing. Every person in the world is entitled to clean water, every day. No person is allowed to have this much money when there are people that do not even have clean water to drink. I am targeting the world's riches people first because they are the ones that are benefiting the most from the inequality. They are the most visible; their partners are going to be held accountable as well. As of right now, they are all suspects of crimes against humanity (innocent until proven guilty); the punishment for this crime is death. The crimes committed by these individuals and organizations needs to be accounted for. "

"Inequality report"

In this scene, DW Coon tells Jack about the Inequality Report. DW pleads with the Elites not to start a war. He begs that a peaceful resolutions to the problems at hand. There is another way to bring equality and balance to the world, other then war.

"Could you please tell us about The Report of Inequality? What is it?"

Coon

"The Task force is going to publish The Report of Inequality

This publication is going to detail all people responsible for the inequality because of their greed. All suspects and criminals are cordially demanded to appear before the truth commission to be judge if they have committed crimes against humanity. If they take action before we have to force them too, and they come peacefully and accept what they have done as wrong, they will be forgiven.

"In your own words, could you please tell us about The Truth Commission? What is it?"

The Truth of Inequality Commission of the Working People of the World (TIRCWPW or TC for short, it is now referred to as The Truth Commission) will determine their fate based on their past actions and their testimony of the reason behind their actions. If they do not comply, the TC acting on behalf of the working people of the world will declare war on them. Should this become a necessary action, they will be on the wrong side of the battlefield. This war is between the Working people and the Capitalist, Approximately 600,000 workers for every 1 capitalist. Which side are you on? Are you on the majority's side? A truce is offered before there has to be bloodshed. Surrender now, appear before the TC, comply with their demands, and you will be pardoned for your crimes, I guarantee you no harm.

The General reads the Official Statement of purpose that was sent to the Elites. This is like the Olive Branch Treaty sent to King George by the founding fathers of the US back in 1770s. It was a plea for fair and just treatment or else the people will be force to bring about war to the oppressors. Justice also reads excerpts from the

Declaration of Independence of the United States
Universal Declaration of Human Rights as adopted by
United Nations General Assembly.

General Justice (smiles as here grabs some papers from his desk)

"This was the official report that we sent them" (reads from the report)

"To the Gentlemen of the Capitalist World:

War is upon us. The Great War is going to be fought is going to be fought between the Proletariat and the Bousesie. The Capitalist verse the working class. This war if fought to bring the power to the people once and for all.

This is not going to be Socialism or Communism; however, it has many of the qualities that these forms of governments might have. After the war, there will be peace and equality thought out the land. This is the last War. Once we rid the world of your evils and wrong doings, society will be taking a step in the right direction. We choose equality, even if it means war, over your alternative of slave wages, environmental destructions, a few, extremely wealth people. We, the majority in a democracy has chosen equality over tearinay. We have chosen freedom to live instead of work or die.

The working people of the world have declared war on you. This is your only chance to surrender your power and give it to those how can be trusted to share it evenly with everyone. Our Demands are simple: Relinquish all of your money and wealth (except what you need to survive....,

(The General adds a little extra paraphrasing to the report)

....... (lively added) I would say $5 an hour sounds good, an estimate $10,000 a year, yeah that's right, you think you can live on this budge? You fucking assholes. You had no problem paying everyone one else this pathetic wage while you greedily stole all the extra profit you could to put in your own pockets. Well, the tables have turned. If you do not peaceful surrender, we, the working people of the world, who you know outnumber you 1,000,000 to 1 are going to storm your mansions and vacation resorts and kill you. How do you like that! Okay, i added that last part."

".....(on back on tract) It was only a matter of time before we figured out what you were doing to us. Now we have, and the time has come. The choice is your. Do not underestimate our power. For we are the majority and I have a Written Constitution that states that the majority rules in a democracy. And you have to take responsibility for the consequences of your actions.

Do the right thing now, don't do it because if you don't, we are going to kill you, no, did it for the right reasons. You know what the right thing to do is.

We have are in a new millennium now, a new globalized world, and thus we have new needs and wants that we are entitled to achieve the best possible Life, Liberty and the pursuit of happiness.


New 21st Century Rights All people are entitled to food, clean water, a living wage clothing, shelter, healthcare and leisure time. All working people and their families are entitled to a fair portion of the gross domestic profit of their country.

A complete social security net for all full time working people, for their entire lives.

Major principles of the UDHR

There are a total of thirty articles outlining people's human rights, but the most important principles declared are considered to be the following:

The right to life, liberty and the right of security of person

The right to an education

The right to employment, paid holidays, protection against unemployment, and social security

The right to participate fully in cultural life

Freedom from torture or cruel, inhumane treatment or punishment

Freedom of thought, conscience and religion

Freedom of expression and opinion

These rights cannot be denied!

That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles, and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. Should the capitalist not comply with the demands of the working people, then the people of the world will be forced to take swift and deliberate action against them.

"Declaration of War"

Justice lively declares war on the Elites. Justice has been made the official spooks person of the people’s Revolution of Equality. He is also officially put in charge of the workforce (later becomes the Bloody Revolutionary army. He provides complete proof and rational for the decision made by the people.

(The General does not look happy. He is very serious as he reads his version of the Declaration of War)

"I am sharpening my sword, as I get ready for battle.

Gentlemen, People of the World, we are at War!

The enemies are the capitalist and the Elites, they need to know that I mean business. I am going to bring the fight right to your doorstep and I am not going to rest until one of us is dead. I am going to defeat you, strip you of your power and wealth and give it to those who are the majority. Those who deserve to benefit from their hard work. You have stolen from us for long enough. You had your chance when you were in power to do something about the inequality, and you did nothing. You will die for your greed. My first tactical strike is targeted at the enemies' source of power. I am going to take their employees away from them. I am going to enlighten them as they join my side. The first battle that is going to be waged starts now."

My first strike is with pencils and a note book.

News of the War will spread far and wide. In this first battle, my primary source of knowledge (and the deadlist weapon of choice) in none other the The United States Declaration of Independence.

Be warned however, because I have sharpened them with my sword, and you should know that they are very sharp. I will not hesitate to fight the next battle, should there be one, with my sword. Surrender now; give up while you still can. How am I going to get this to all of the working people of the world?

"What is your rational for declaring war?"
"Why are the capitalist guilty of crimes if they did not directly hurt people?"

Justice

Firstly, they do directly hurt people. There are millions of sweatshop workers who would define their capitalist bosses are directly hurting them, either in the form of a unlivable slave wage ($0.30/hr) or with brutal working conditions. Why would the capitalist force workers to work in theses conditions? Because they want personal profit. There is nothing inherently wrong with seeking personal profit, under the condition that you do not brutalize innocent people to make personal profit.

It is however MORALLY wrong to keep gigantic amounts of personal profit when there are people around you that are dying of curable diseases.

Secondly, if you are in the position to help your fellow man, then it is your duty to do so. The Good Samaritan laws describe a legal requirement for citizens to assist people in distress, unless doing so would put themselves in harm's way. Every capitalist on the list could, AND IS GOING TO, start to help fellow man.

In this day and age, there is no reason that ANYONE, man, woman or child, should be without clean water and food, clothing and shelter and basic healthcare. As long as there is one person that does not have these basic right, IT IS A CRIME to be able to help and yet do nothing.

You cannot plea ignorance, you know that there are homeless people and starving children in this country, let alone the world. It is the Truth Commission duty to reduce as much inequality as possible. And to punish you for your crimes"

"What is your Definition of Crime?"

A crime in a non-technical sense is an act that violates a very important political or moral command. Criminalization might be intended as a pre-emptive, harm-reduction device, using the threat of punishment as a deterrent to those proposing to engage in the behavior causing harm.

Today in the news: In Libya, five Bulgarian nurses and one Palestinian doctor accused of infecting people with HIV are convicted and sentenced to death. The crimes that this doctor and these nurses committed is no worst then the crimes that are committed by capitalist everyday.

"What is good? What is the right thing to do? What should the Law be?"

Jeremy Bentham originally proposed Utilitarianism. From the principle of utility, Bentham found pain and pleasure to be the only intrinsic values in the world: "nature has put man under the governance of two sovereign masters: pleasure and pain." From this he derived the rule of utility: that the good is whatever brings the greatest happiness to the greatest number of people. Later, after realizing that the formulation recognized two different and potentially conflicting principles, he dropped the second part and talked simply about "the greatest happiness principle."

The "good" thing to do is make the greatest number of people happy, in this case the workers. The harm principle is articulated in John Stuart Mill's On Liberty. Mill argues that the sole purpose of law should be to stop people from harming others and that should people want to participate in victimless crimes, crimes with no complaining witness, such as gambling, engaging in prostitution, then they should not be encroached in doing so.

"Why should we care about equality?"

Because most importantly, it is the moral thing to do. AND, by reducing inequality to near zero, we eliminate the completely for crimes of need.

These are crimes that people commit, such as armed robbery, because they need money to buy food. It is time to stop blaming people (and punishing them) for acts they committed out of survival instinct. Everyone is going to have what they need to survive, so they will not have the need to commit these types of crimes anymore. From now on, all crimes are done out of greed, hatred or simply deviance. A clear distinction can now be made, and these crimes can be punished more severely. Society will be better for all.

The primarily result of reducing inequality is that it will actually increase the human potential of society one hundred times. As of now, there are millions of people that waste their lives because they have no opportunity to do any good with it. Theses people maybe could have done good for the world, but we will never know because they were never given a chance. Maybe, one young kid, who grew up in a ghetto somewhere, was the one to discover the cure for cancer. He was unfortunately for mankind, never given the proper education and encouragement to peruse such research. Instead, because of the inequality of the world, this young man died at a young age as a AIDS infested drug dealer at the hands of some fool that robbed him because he needed $5 for his next crack hi.

So by reducing inequality, we actually have something to gain as a society and as a human race. It is our duty to make this future a reality for not only us, but our children and for the future generations.

Profit Capitalism also does other extremely terrible things in the name of personal profit for the owners. These things include but are not limited to,
environmental destruction,
unnecessary pollution,
devastation to communities and weaker peoples,
and War over natural resources where the collateral damage is the lives of innocent civilians.

Not to mention past actions of crimes against humanity in the name of profit including the

Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade,
the complete destruction of hundreds of thousands of tribes of native people around the world.

It is time for that to come to an end and we all shall live in peace with one another. Wealth is NOT going to be the sole objective of our society.

"Wealth and the Basic Standard of Living"

(Continuing with the coversation between Jack and Justice)

"What is the Definition of Wealth?"

The Wealth in Buddhism According to the Buddha, giving leads to being reborn in happy states and material wealth. Alternatively, lack of giving leads to unhappy states and poverty.

The exquisite paradox in Buddhism is that the more we give - and the more we give without seeking something in return - the more wealthy (in the broadest sense of the word) we will become.
"Wealth" has come to mean an abundance of items of economic value, or the state of controlling or possessing such items, and encompasses money= real estate and personal property.
In many countries wealth is also measured by reference to access to essential services such as health care, or the possession of crops and livestock.

An individual who is wealthy, affluent, or rich is someone who has accumulated substantial wealth relative to others in their society or reference group.

Note the Comparison: The opposite of wealth is scarcity, the opposite of richness is poverty.

Capitalism asserts that all wealth is earned, not distributed.
It can only be distributed after it is forcibly seized from the earners (usually in the form of tax). Wealth acquired this way is then distributed. Thus this section is concerned with the anti-capitalist conception of wealth, namely that all wealth is collective and distributed among individuals.

In modern societies, the tradition of philanthropy exists. Large donations from funds created by wealthy individuals are highly visible, although small contributions by many people also offer a wide variety of support within a society. The continued existence of organizations which survive on donations indicate that modern Western society has at least some level of philanthropy.

The Rich that are true Philanthropists before the war started are going to be pardoned and forgiven the most. Their actions have shown the people that they are not only successful, but that they are not greedy.

"What is the Standard of Living? And what is the BSoL Act "

Standard of living refers to the quality and quantity of goods and services available to people and the way these services and goods are distributed within a population. It is generally measured by standards such as income inequality, poverty rate, real (i.e. inflation adjusted) income per person.

Other measures such as access and quality of health care, educational standards and social rights are often used too.

Examples are access to certain goods (such as number of refrigerators per 1000 people), or measures of health such as life expectancy. It is the ease by which people living in a country are able to satisfy their wants.

The idea of a 'standard' may be contrasted with the Pareto index.

Standards of living are perhaps inherently subjective.

As an example, countries with a very small, very rich upper class and a very large, very poor lower class may have a high mean level of income, even though the majority of people have a low "standard of living". This mirrors the problem of poverty measurement, which also tends towards the relative.

Christmas Day

This is the first Christmas that I am spending alone. The last 3 were spent with molly, and the previous 18 were with my parents. I am home for the weekend, and my parents are going skiing in the morning. This is good because I want to be alone right now. I have so much work to do. I have conceived a concept that is going to change the world. I fear that I am going to start a war. One unlike the world has ever seen. But this is the future. I am not the cause, I am merely a response to the inequality of the capitalist.

How can somebody stand by and allow what has happened to the world. They are tought that it is not there problem. "oh, well it is not my problem, I did not cause it." Well, we the working people are the majority and I say it is about time that we not only do it for the people that have nothing, but for the people that do not get what they dereserve, I have heard story after story about hard working people that suffer tremendously because of money. Money truly is the root of evil. If that were true, then wouldn't the people that have the most be the most evil? The time has come to change thing.

A time had to come when the feudal system was finally over thrown. At that time, all the older, conservative people, the people that have with stood the abuse their whole lives, said that the system could never be over thrown, it was to powerful. They were wrong. The working people held a convention, and stormed the castle of the king and beheaded him. Why is it so wrong to think that the time has come to do that again. History repeats itself, right? Well the capitalist have the ones controlling the world. They are the ones calling for all the injustices to continue, so they profit. And what are they really profiting for anyways? They already have 5 homes and 20 cars. What more do they need? Maybe it is time to put a salary cap on these people's incomes. Are they really that much more privelged then you or I, that they deserve that much money? And at the expense of who? The working people of the world. Millions of people, here in the united states and in China. Workers are slaving for the capitalist to make so much profit. It is not fair and it is not right.

"So what should be done then? Should we storm their castles and behead them like the French people did in 1775?"

I am not condoning that kind of behavior in the 21st century. Do I think that they deserve it? I am not going to even say that. What absolutely MUST happen thou, is that they MUST surrender all of their fortunes. If they do not comply, then off with their heads. As of right now, it was a majority consensus that they must have been some how better then the rest of us, and they deserved the have such fortunes. Whether or not that was the case, times have changed. It is no longer acceptable for an individual to withhold such a fortune at the cost of millions of workers that do not have the bare essentials of living. What is done is done, and no one is going to be punished for their past actions. However retribution is still in order, and equality must be achieved. It is what is best for everyone.

That is the best that we can do right now.

Should the capitalists not surrender their fortunes to the working people because of their greed, then they are thus declaring war. There is no way that they can win, and it is only a matter of time before we, the working people, get what we are entitled too. Should we just accept the situation that we are in now? How many problems are because of money? How much crime is because of money? How much evil is because of money?

What if we all got about the same about of money? The people that work really hard, still are going to get paid a lot more.

Celebrities are not criminals, they are talented people. Sports stars, TV stars, movie stars, music stars are still going to get paid more then the average person.

Any job that society values because they help society. Capitalist that do nothing but hurt the world so they make more money should not be the highest paid people in the world. The ones that make a lot of money now, as long as they have used if for the greater good, they can remain as some of the highest paid people. For comparison Capitalist do very little good for society. You could argue that they give us job, but they give a majority of us shitty jobs, so that does not count. Answer: they followed all the rules of capitalism to make as much money as possible. This included extortion of excessive proportion. What did they do with all that money? Was it worth the millions of American jobs lost? Was it worth the millions of Chinese sweat and blood? All so five Waltons can have $102 billion of private wealth. I do not think it was worth it. I am charging the entire Walton family with crimes against humanity. How many millions of people have been hurt because of their greed? The TC will provide a more comprehensive report.

Since "full time" at Wal-Mart is 34 hours a week according to company policy, full-time workers make a mere $17,114.24 a year—below the federal poverty level for a family of four.The most common Wal-Mart jobs earn less. A sales associate--the most common job classification--earns on average $8.23 per hour ($13,861 annually)A cashier—the second most common job—earns about $7.92 per hour ($11,948 annually)Sales associates and cashiers combined account for more than a third of all Wal-Mart jobs.The world's largest and richest retailer—with more than $250 billion in annual revenue--can afford wage increases!?!

Wal-Mart could pay each employee a dollar more per hour if the company increased its prices by a half-penny per dollar. For example, a $2.00 pair of socks would then cost $2.01. This minimal increase would annually add up to $1,800 for each employee.

A Wal-Mart spokesperson told USA Today on 1/29/03 that their pay is close to or equal to union wages. · Wal-Mart employs 1.4 million workers worldwide and over 1 million in the United States. More than half of Wal-Mart's U.S. employees leave the company each year. Wal-Mart has more than 3,000 stores in the US and almost 1,300 International operations. ·

The Walton family is worth about $102 billion. Wal-Mart topped the Fortune 500 list of America's largest corporations ranked by sales for the fourth year in a row. · Wal-Mart is the top U.S. seller of products ranging from dog food to diamonds with sales of $244.5 billion in the fiscal year ended January 2003 up from $220 billion in 2001. · In 1970, the country's largest employer was General Motors, with 350,000 workers. Overwhelmingly union, they earned $17.50 an hour plus health, pension and vacation benefits and cost-of-living increases. Today, the country's largest employer is Wal-Mart, with over 1 million US workers. They earn an average hourly wage of $8.00, with no defined benefit pension, and inadequate health care. ·

Wal-Mart was sued 4,851 times in 2000

or about once every 2 hours, every day of the year.

Wal-Mart lawyers list about 9,400 open cases, according to a report published in the August 14, 2001, USA Today newspaper.

Wal-Mart and Sweatshops

In his autobiography, Made in America: My Story founding Wal-Mart President, Sam Walton, proselytized "Buy American." USA Today, August 14, 2001, reported that, "Wal-Mart has more than 1,107 international operations." The newspaper also reports that, "Banglades workers earn as little as nine cents an hour making shirts for Wal-Mart.

$0.09 cents an hour!!

Hypocritically, Wal-Mart ran a "Buy American" and "Buy Mexican" marketing campaigns simultaneously, all the while reinvesting its all-American dollars overseas.

Wal-Mart is the largest importer of Chinese goods.

10% of all Chinese imports are imported by Wal-Mart.

Wal-Mart even established its own global procurement division this year, abandoning the pretense to its traditional "buy American" campaign.

This team searches the globe for the cheapest raw materials, manufacturers and shipping routes.

They allow Wal-Mart to relocate factories from one country to the next in its endless quest to squeeze countries for lower wages and cheaper goods. (LA Time 12/03)

Give $100 billion to charity now, or face a worker's rebellion in the US and China. You can keep $2 billion for yourselves if you surrender now. If you do not comply, we will wage war upon you, and bring about justice to the peoplethat you have exploited for the last 2 decades. .

I will name a few, there are far to many to mention right here. For starters we have the Koch Industries, which has more then $66.67 billion in revenues each year. Mars has over $60 billion.

E. Neville Isdell, CEO & Chairman of the Coca-Cola Company. This one has $23 billion a year in revenue. It is had to believe that this guy does not feel wrong about stealing $23 billions a year from consumers, and what do they give them in return? A mouth full or rotten teeth, or who knows the health effects of the chemical sweetener that they use in diet soda. What pisses me off the most about this company, is they sell close to a billion dollars a year for water. For WATER!! This stuff is not supposed to be sold, it is a free comdity. We all need water to survive, and Mr. Isdell seems to think that there is nothing wrong with extorting a billion dollars a year from consumers for water. I don't think that it is fair. People do not realize how much money they spend on beverages a year. Water, should be avaiable to everyone for free, all the time. $4.00 for a water at the movie theater, that is rediculas.

"What is your defination of Greed, General?"

Greed/Avarice (Latin, cupiditia/avaritia) Greed is, like Lust and Gluttony, a sin of excess. However, Greed particularly applies to the acquisition of wealth. Thomas Aquinas wrote that Greed was "a sin against God, just as all mortal sins, in as much as man condemns things eternal for the sake of temporal things." In Dante's Purgatory, the penitent were forced to kneel on hard stone and recite the examples of avarice and its opposing virtue.

Avarice is a blanket term that can describe many other forms of sinful behaviour. These include disloyalty, deliberate betrayal, or treason, especially for personal gain, as when someone lets themselves be bribed. Scavenging and hoarding of materials or objects, theft and robbery, especially by violence, trickery, or manipulation of authority are all actions that are inspired by greed. Such misdeeds include Simony, where the sinner feels the urge to make money by selling things within the confines of the church.
